We’ve had some great radio controlled helicopters over the years, from the standard 2 channel ones which are great for kids to the almighty outdoor helicopters more suited for adults. We now bring you something with a bit more excitement, and that’s missile firing helicopters! Seriously there’s nothing better than lazing on your sofa and firing at targets in your very own living room.

The missile firing helicopters we have on offer are the Silverlit Heli Blaster (below) and the Gyro Stealth Attack (above), both of which are an absolute gem to fly and carry out destroy (or annoy!) missions. So what’s the difference between the two? Well the Silverlit Heli Blaster comes with six missiles where as the Gyro Stealth Attack only comes with two. As the name suggests the Stealth Attack comes with Gyro technology providing a more stable flight but that’s not to say the Silverlit Heli Blaster will simply be blown out of the skies with the lack of this technology.

The Silverlit Heli Blaster comes in three distinctive colours, each on a different channel band, so up to three can be flown at once for a massive dog fight.

All in all both of these radio controlled helicopters are a doddle to fly and will provide plenty of fun if you want to go one step further than doing crazy manoeuvres in your living room. Either would make an ideal RC helicopter for kids.

The phrase ‘Pocket Fishing Rod’ sounds like some sort of smutty euphemism, but if you can set aside your sniggering for a moment, this is a serious piece of kit that warrants serious consideration.  Whoever thought up the idea of a miniature fishing rod deserves a knighthood, and possibly beatification too for their selfless services to the leisure industry.  It would be easy to mock this product, assuming that an unreasonably small rod is only going to result in unreasonably small fish being caught – that’s if any of them are dumb enough to even take the bait.  You’d be surprised though, both at the stupidity of pisces and at the ingenuity of the Pocket Fishing Rod.  Coming from the ‘shower not a grower’ school of rods, this compact gadget folds out from a microscopic 20cm to form a whopping 104cm rod.

When you show up empty-handed at the riverbank, your mates will naturally assume that you’re just there to watch them fish.  Within seconds of producing the Pocket Fishing Rod however, they’ll be staring at you like you’re Mary Poppins, wondering in astonishment how you managed to pluck such a lengthy rod from your impossibly small pocket.  As if smuggling a one-metre wand down your trousers wasn’t impressive enough, the rod also comes with its own plastic bait, negating the need to go scratching for worms.  Indeed, with reel, line, hook, floats and weight all included, the only thing missing is the fish.  That doesn’t take too long to materialise however, for once in the water, the Pocket Fishing Rod performs in exactly the same fashion as more illustrious rods, many of which cost around 20 times the price.

If the fish only knew that they were being reeled in with a pocket-sized imitation, they’d feel doubly cheated.  As it is, they remain blissfuly unaware of their imminent demise, right up until you remove the fake bait from their mouth, unhook them from the fake rod and administer a few whacks from a well-aimed rock.  Now, if only someone would invent a foldable pocket-sized fish, getting home with your catch would become just as easy as heading out.  This has to be one of the best gadgets for men we’ve ever sold.  The possibilities presented by the Pocket Fishing Rod are endless – you could even take it with you to the pub.  Then, on the way home, you can smugly skip past the queue in the chipper and go grab some fresh fish for free.
